Third Age 5923: Dakar and Daliana transport a bound Lysaer through the Stacks. Daliana disagrees with Dakar's plan to create a proximity ward that will force Lysaer close to her, and leaves with the wagon holding Lysaer. Davien appears before Dakar can set up the ward and warns him not to interfere in Lysaer's fate.

By summertime, Dakar has reached Backwater, where a vision of Arithon accepting child-rights for Vivet's unborn child gets the Mad Prophet ejected from a whore-house.
