Lysaer recites a guest oath at the west outpost of Tysan in Curse of the Mistwraith: "To this house, its lady, and her sworn companions, I pledge friendship. Ath's blessing upon family and kin, strength to your heirs, and honor to the name of s'Gannley. Beneath this roof and before Ath, I share fortune and sorrow as your brother, my service as steadfast as blood kin."
After raising his filled goblet, Lady Maenalle s'Gannley replies, "Your presence is our grace," and drinks half of the wine. Lysaer follows up by finishing the wine, and then laying the goblet rim downward on the table between the two. His final statement is simply, "Dharkaron witness".
Later in the story, Arithon recites a guest oath to the clans of Deshir. The wording is quite similar: "To this house, its lord, and his sworn companions, I pledge friendship. Ath's blessing upon family and kin, strength to the heir, and honor to the name of s'Valerient. Beneath this roof and before Ath, count me brother, my service as true as blood kin. Dharkaron witness."
