Although every entity has a Name, not every Name is known to the Fellowship. Conjecture states that Traithe opened himself to learn the Mistwraith's name in Third Age 4993, it damaged his continuity of function, and he was then forced to cauterize this knowledge from his being. This has ramifications during the casting of strands -- because the Fellowship do not know the Name of the Mistwraith, they can only track its effects against other entities -- they cannot track it directly.
