Raven is the bird that accompanies Traithe to compensate for his impairments. Raven has been referred to in the story as Prophecy, as Raven, and simply as "the raven". It has also been referred to as both feminine and masculine. It has amber eyes.
The nature of Raven is still somewhat vague. The author has stated that Raven "is an Aspect called into physical being by Sethvir. The Aspect was born out of the greater whole, who is Raven (she), not a physical entity." Raven bridges the limitations of Traithe's maimed talents, and Traithe is mortal and blinded while Raven is away.

Curse of the Mistwraith
Third Age 5637: Raven is first introduced as a messenger between Sethvir and Traithe. Raven is with Traithe when he arrives at Althain Tower to fight the meth-snakes. After Traithe dines with Lysaer, Raven devours the butter, to the disappointment of Dakar. Raven travels to Ghent with Traithe, to locate the heir of Havish.
Third Age 5638: During the coronation at Etarra, Traithe loans Raven to Arithon, in hopes of leading him to Sethvir as quickly as possible. Raven ends up circling blindly in the shadows of Arithon's making after Lysaer attacks, but is rescued by Sethvir. Raven accompanies Traithe to Narms when he meets with Elaira, and follows him to Shand at the end of the book for the training of King Eldir. This may be a misprint, since the story previous said that Eldir was hidden in Ghent.
