Grand Conspiracy

Third Age 5654: To avoid the potential for the Mistwraith's curse to interfere in a plot at the Riverton shipyard, Parrien s'Brydion orders Vhandon and Talvish to break Arithon's leg, and then stand by him in defense as recompense. After the s'Brydion plan is executed, Talvish and Vhandon guard Arithon's privacy from Dakar's intrusion. The pair travel with Arithon in search of the Paravians for the next 15 years.

Third Age 5669: When Vhandon and Talvish question the Mistwraith's influence in the decision to return to Paravia, Arithon argues for his free will and integrity, pledging not to resist any attempt to stop him. After arriving at the Sanpashir ruins, Arithon convinces the pair to stay aboard the Khetienn by promising to rejoin them in Alestron after the rescue.

Traitor's Knot

Third Age 5670: Vhandon and Talvish are at Alestron when Dakar and Fionn Areth finally arrive in the summer. They escort Fionn Areth to his guest chambers and, later, to a banquet with the s'Brydion brothers. When Feylind arrives aboard the Evenstar to collect Fionn Areth, Vhandon and Talvish accompany him onboard. Arithon appears on the ship to protect it from a Koriani trap, and Talvish helps the crew prepare for a fiend storm. When Arithon is in danger of falling asleep from exhaustion, Talvish takes second watch over him and tries to raise his spirits.

Third Age 5671: After the attack on the Evenstar is nullified, Talvish leaves with Arithon aboard the Khetienn. Brought ashore in Shand, Arithon and his party encounter Kyrialt and other clansmen out of Selkwood. Arithon wagers that he can rob a caravan of stolen amethysts, a tribute to the Light, and silk for Glendien's wedding gift without bloodshed. Talvish and Vhandon win money from the clan scouts when Arithon succeeds. Afterwards, Talvish accompanies Arithon to the camp of Erlien s'Taleyn. Talvish and Vhandon guard Arithon when he seeks seclusion at River Hanhaffin, but allow Glendien to pass for an afternoon's dalliance. When Arithon's appearance gives the impression that he attempted to rape her, the prince does not gainsay the assumption. Talvish believes that Arithon hoped that they would abandon his service as a result. After learning the truth about the ruse through Erlien, Talvish takes part in Kyrialt's oath of fealty.

Talvish attends Kyrialt and Glendien's bridal feast and then departs for Telzen with Arithon. Arithon and Dakar separate from Vhandon, Talvish, and Fionn Areth, with the double under Rathain's crown protection to avoid Koriani interference. The trio continue on to Atwood. When Arithon agrees to help the Fellowship rout an incursion of necromancy, Fionn Areth is left in the charge of Vhandon and Talvish. The trio travel to Alestron to rejoin the service of Duke Bransian.

Stormed Fortress

Third Age 5671: After Vhandon resumes his post as captain in Alestron, he informs Talvish of Arithon's actions in Etarra. Talvish chooses to serve under Vhandon again and is assigned to lead a razing of crops west towards Pellain. Fionn Areth accompanies the foray. Talvish's men detect headhunters in hard pursuit of a clan scout from Silvermarsh and he orders them to intercept and protect the scout. The men encounter Jeynsa and decide to bring her to Alestron, where she meets with Bransian and offers to draw Arithon back into the conflict through his blood oath.

In the aftermath of Lysaer's initial attack, Talvish helps Mearn execute an organized retreat to the upper citadel. When Duke Bransian summons Jeynsa for an audience with Dakar, Elaira, and Sidir, machinations by Dame Dawr's servants places Talvish in the role of Jeynsa's escort. He escorts her to and from the meeting with the trio. Bransian and Liesse argue over the suspicion that Elaira is of the Koriathain. The Duke is dissuaded from any rash moves by Talvish and Mearn. Talvish assigns Jeynsa and Fionn Areth to refilling water troughs. When Sidir visits the barracks to answer Fionn Areth's questions, the clansman informs Talvish of his past service to Arithon at Vastmark. Talvish remains nearby when Sidir answers Fionn Areth's questions about Arithon. Dakar is playing cards with Mearn and other soldiers when Talvish brings news of Arithon's arrival. Talvish agrees to waylay Fionn Areth while Dakar and Mearn visit Arithon.

In spite of distracting menial work, Jeynsa and Fionn Areth soon discover that Arithon has returned. Talvish and Sidir escort Jeynsa and Fionn Areth to Dame Dawr's, where Arithon is preparing to perform. After the performance, Talvish and Dakar conspire to get Fionn Areth drunk, leaving him in a local tavern after Dakar predicts a crisis. Talvish puts his loyalty to Alestron in jeopardy by sending a warning to Arithon through Fianzia. He and Dakar discover Sidir mortally wounded in Jeynsa's quarters. After Sidir's healing, Talvish joins Mearn in an attempt to undo the damage done by Bransian's rash move. They recall Sevrand from the harbor mouth and confront Bransian and Liesse. Mearn forces Bransian to agree to Arithon's closed hearing while Talvish protects a wounded Jeynsa. At the hearing, Arithon lays claim to Talvish's service. Talvish's change of loyalty sees him assigned to privy duty. Duke Bransian attempts to goad him about Arithon's inaction, but does not succeed.

After Arithon awakens the power of Alithiel from Watch Keep, Talvish, Kyrialt, and Fionn Areth stand guard in the chamber below while Arithon sustains the sword's powers. Talvish beats Fionn Areth in a game of dice. Sevrand and Vhandon bring word of Parrien's enspelled actions in the Alliance camp and Talvish is amazed to find that Vhandon survived Lysaer's initial attack. The group plots a rescue attempt, helped by Elaira's return and her knowledge of Selidie's sigil. Elaira sends Talvish to collect Dakar from his rescue mission when Lysaer prepares to leave the battlefront. Dakar warns that the curse will resurge in Lysaer as he sails further away from Alithiel.

When the incoming Evenstar is threatened by a bolt of Light, Arithon reflexively defends it with his gift of Shadow. Talvish urges him to focus on Shadow defenses while Parrien's war galley tries to save the crew and supply. As fighting intensifies, Arithon, Talvish, and Dakar strategize to extricate Arithon from the citadel. Arithon refuses to defend Alestron with more Shadow, believing that it would destroy the opening for Lysaer to recover his sanity under free will. He explains his risky plan to appear dead by tying his spirit to Alithiel as he did in Daon Ramon Barrens, but this time with the sword's chord awakened. Talvish arranges for one of Dame Dawr's coaches to speed Elaira's return to the keep. Dakar asks Talvish for help locating Fionn Areth based on a premonition of Selidie and Lirenda working on a new sigil. Vhandon and Talvish pick up the search for Fionn Areth. Their search is interrupted when the Evenstar explodes prematurely destroying a lower weir gate. Vhandon and Talvish enter the sewers where Cattrick and Fionn Areth are barely holding the attackers at bay. Cattrick is felled by a crossbow quarrel and Vhandon orders Talvish to secure the gate and see Arithon safely out of Alestron. Vhandon and Fionn Areth die in the sewers, but delay the attackers long enough for Sevrand's reinforcements to arrive.

When Parrien seeks out Arithon to ask for assistance, Talvish escorts him down to the sea quarter where Arithon uses his Masterbard talents for healing. Distracted by questions about Fionn Areth, Talvish acts too late to stop Parrien from attacking Arithon. Kyrialt intervenes with his life, but Arithon is still gravely wounded. Arithon is covered with Davien's cloak, which conceals his identity, and Elaira, Dakar, Talvish, Glendien, and Parrien arrange in subterfuge as the first Alliance forces enter the sea quarter. Convinced of Elaira's healing care, a sergeant arranges for the healers and wounded to be transported out of danger to the main Alliance camp.

Sulfin Evend meets the galley bearing Elaira and insists on examining all of the wounded to make sure there are no fugitives in the group. In spite of the magic in Davien's cloak, Sulfin Evend's s'Gannley gifts allow him to recognize Arithon disguised as a blind man. Parrien regains consciousness and attacks Sulfin Evend, reclaimed by Selidie Prime's geas, causing Talvish to draw Alithiel. The sword's song incapacitates everyone except Elaira, Talvish, and Dakar, and Sethvir (through the Atheran crystal) urges Elaira to escape on the tide. The group escapes to the Cildein Ocean in a scheduled courier sloop. On the subsequent trip to Athir, Talvish keeps watch on Parrien and helps to steer the sloop.

The party lands at Athir to await Fellowship help, but no Sorcerer has arrived by the time Arithon's unconscious body starts to lose vitality. Elaira chooses an untested path between the machinations of the Fellowship and Koriathain to save Arithon. Arithon is placed at the Paravian focus circle with Talvish sworn to stand watch. Elaira enacts a Koriani spell of possession that will allow her to interact with Arithon through Glendien's willing body. Elaira's magecraft raises the land's flux through the focus circle, preventing any outside interference. Arithon is made whole again and sung to sleep by Biedar singing in Sanpashir, unaware of his daughter's conception. Glendien is taken to Althain Tower by Luhaine and Arithon awakens with Elaira, under Talvish's guard. Talvish stands guard during Arithon's meeting with Asandir, surety that the meeting will only cover crown obligations.
